Duncan Clark
Chairman
Duncan is a recognized expert on the Internet and entrepreneurship in China, where he has lived and worked for more than 20 years.
Duncan is chairman of BDA China, which he founded in 1994 after working as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley in London and Hong Kong. BDA China is an advisory firm serving investors in China's technology and consumer sectors, employing over 100 mainland Chinese professionals in Beijing.
An early advisor to leading China Internet entrepreneurs, Duncan is author of Alibaba: The House That Jack Ma Built, the definitive work on China's e-commerce and technology giant, its founder Jack Ma, and the forces and people that propelled its rise. (Published in April 2016 by HarperCollins/Ecco)
An advisor to the UK Government on China's digital economy, in 2013 Duncan was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to UK trade and investment in China. He previously served as Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in China.
Duncan has made early-stage investments in a number of tech ventures including App Annie, the San Francisco-based global metrics provider backed by Sequoia Capital.
From 2010-2012, Duncan was a visiting scholar at Stanford University, where he co-founded China 2.0, an influential research initiative and forum at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Duncan currently serves on a number of advisory boards, including The Digital Communication Fund of Geneva-based bank Pictet & Cie; WildAid, whose mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade, and Student.com, helping overseas students find safe and comfortable accommodation. Duncan is a board member of Bangkok Bank (China).

Wilbur Zou
Managing Partner
Wilbur Zou is BDA's Managing Partner and is responsible for BDA's business operation and business development.
Wilbur has extensive consulting and research experience through advisory work BDA has done in several sectors including TMT (telecom, media and technology), consumer goods and services, education, etc. Clients he has served include leading financial institutions (private equity funds, hedge funds, etc) and fortune 500 corporations.
Prior to joining BDA in 2004, Wilbur was a strategy consultant for Accenture’s telecom division. Wilbur also worked as an investment banker for Salomon Smith Barney, the investment banking arm of Citi Group, in New York City. In addition to his professional service career, he has worked in a marketing and sales capacity for multinational industrial companies such as BHP Billiton and Itochu Corporation.
Wilbur’s hobbies include music and sports. He used to be an amateur jazz drum player and a lead vocalist. His favorite sports include tennis, skiing and golf.
Wilbur received his MBA degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Business in the United States, and his B.Sc degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

Ken Wang
Managing Director
Ken Wang has been accumulating investment due diligence and equity research experience in BDA for over a decade. He currently leads a group consisting of dozens of members, covering sectors including education, finance, travel, healthcare, consumer goods, real estate, auto manufacturing, etc.
Prior to his experience in BDA, Ken served as an associate in L.E.K. China.
Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of International Business and Economics.

Lei Shi
Managing Director
Lei Shi joined BDA in 2008. He is a veteran professional specializing in commercial due diligence and fundamental research for institutional financial investors. Lei is leading a group of professionals with abundant research experience in TMT areas ranging from e-commerce, online entertainment and content distribution, social networks to enterprise services (SaaS and B2B). In addition, Lei’s group also covers consumer goods, energy, agriculture and advanced manufacturing.
Lei Shi holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
